Summary - September 1968

2/5 Cav was a part of Operation Comanche Falls in northern Quang Tri Province, just south of the DMZ.  It  began on September 9^th and was intended to destroy battalions of the 812^th NVA Regiment and the 814 NVA (K-14) Battalion.  

September 11

C 2/5 Cav , along with D Company, were OPCON to the 2^nd Brigade, and were part of a four battalion combat assault into the southeast part of Base Area 101.  Once on the ground, they moved north in an attempt to squeeze the NVA against a blocking force composed of other 1^st Cav and ARVN units.  There was no significant contact.
