We all counted on these guys to come help us when we needed it - and we needed them at the worst time - during a firefight.  These three medics - all known as "Doc", get their Combat Infantryman's Badge from Jim "Tree" Machin after all these years.  Left to right Dan Hooks, Lonnie Branch, and Richard Bovie.

If there was a prize for the trooper who traveled the furthest, it was probably Danny Mora, who came all the way from Puerto Rico.  Danny in 1969, and Danny at the reunion.

If there were a prize for those who are the most experienced members of C 2/5 Cav, it would be Jim Mullen, Don O'Keefe, and Ed Boyt.  They were originals - men who left Ft. Benning in August 1965, with Ed as the Company Commander, and Jim and Don as Platoon Leaders.  Seen at the near right are the three at LZ X-Ray, November 16, 1965
