To Reunion Attendees:. I want to thank you for your helping hands and support at the 2006 Reunion in St. Louis. Our tasks were not easy ones by any means. It has been an honor for me to serve as reunion host for the men of C 2/5th. There is no question that this past Reunion was the most triumphant one ever. All of your efforts, and I know they were difficult to do helped make this reunion a tremendous success. From the positive letters that you have been sending there is no question that our group of men and women gained much from this gathering. We were able to run the gambit, from Smiles to Tears, Old Friends to New Friends. At times we could observe men smiling and crying at the same time. As in the past gatherings, some of our FNG reunion members were afraid of what they might discover. . At first they stayed to themselves and wanted to watch from a distance. You old grunts gathered them in and made everyone feel good about themselves. By Saturday night there was NO distance, we were once again one Unit, C 2/5th. You men are simply the best. Thank you again for your efforts. Take care my friends. Your Brother forever Tree

Finally, I got through the security. Butt pats to all who were responsible for the reunion, it was great to see everyone again. Good weather, good company, it doesn't get much better.

We were almost "the last boots on the ground" but we made it home with the greatest feelings I have known in many years. The sense of camaraderie with so many..."Priceless". To Tree, Doug, all the ladies....Your efforts were well spent and all cuddos are well deserved. I guarantee there will be more reunions in my future. Won't be an FNG the next time. (ha). The lines are open and we are standing by.

I agree with Eddie, Doug and Eric and Doc that the reunion was a tremendous thing. There were many more memories of people from my stint as well as meeting many more from before and after that I met and will cherish the time spent with some new found Cav brothers. A special thanks to tree and laura and all the hard work they put into the reunion. Special thanks to Doug Young for his presentation and hard work on this site . Also, Eddie for his donations, Jim Mullens, Debra, donnie and everyone else that made it a special time for my wife and I. Bob Moore

Hello to all... Must admit, the reunion in St. Louie was the best of the two I've attended. Thanks to all who took time out of their busy schedules to make it, and especially to those who made it happen. Mr. & Mrs. Tree, you're relentless and tireless workers who we all owe a huge debt of gratitude to. Thanks, Doug Young for the excellent presentation on Vietnam. What a wonderful weekend. Seeing people I haven't seen in 38 years, emotional ceremonies, watching Gomer win all those prizes etc. I hope we all realize it's not about memories of a war but about friendship. Real friends, no matter how infrequently we see each other. Many thanks to Tree and the others without whom none of this could happen. See you next time.
