I just wanted to say thanks for a great website. My son came across it while doing some research for his 8th grade class he teaches. I am the William Rach that is in the History section Oct 6 1969, Last name spelt wrong. I was in 1st platoon, 2nd squad. I looked at the pictures in the history section and saw faces and some names that I remember. After i was shot and laying there with someother guys and RPG came in and i and others where hit by that and i remember guys taking off and then remember guys coming back to get me and then getting medivac'd out. I would like to sat thanks to those guy for coming back, I think that we where still under fire, don't remember. I would like to know if i could send in some pictures I have? and how and to whom would I send them to.

Michael Van Valkenburg

jk2lm@aol.com

HI, my father Gerald (Jerry) E. Van Valkenburg served in the Army for more than 20 years, including service in Vietnam. Although he passed on in early 1997 due to cancer, I think of him often as one can expect, but always wanted to know more about what he did in the service, especially while in Vietnam. Like many Veterans, he did not talk about too many specifics. Anyway, I still have a brass bugle proudly displayed in my house, presented to then Major G.E. Van Valkenburg, from the 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry from 12 January - 19 July 1968. I saw it this morning and just said, "It is about time I try to find out more." Hence my post here today. If anyone can help me with any info, those who new of him, served with him, etc... that would be great. Thanks for this and THANK YOU for your service.
